Visit fees: Assisted programme

  • Staff pre-planning visit: free.
  • Risk assessments completed. Crown indemnity applies.

Foundation Stage (Early Years)

  • Up to 20 children per Green Fairy.
  • Half day visit (10.00 - 12.30 or 13.00pm - 15.30): £130.

Primary

  • Up to 30 students per Wakehurst teacher.
  • Half-day visit (10.00 - 12.00 or 13.00- 1 5.30): £130.
  • Full day visit (10.00 - 15.00): £180.
  • N.B. Freshwater and minibeast workshops take place April – October.

Secondary

  • Up to 20 students per Wakehurst teacher.
  • Fieldwork - £130 for half day (10.00 - 12.30pm or 1.00pm - 3.30pm).
  • Full day visit (10.00 - 15.00) - £180.
  • N.B. Freshwater and meadow work takes place April – October.

Laboratory work

  • Secondary schools doing biotechnology in the laboratory, the maximum number of students is 20 per Wakehurst teacher.
  • Half day visit (10.00 - 12.30 or 13.00 - 15.30): £130.
  • Full day visit (10.00 - 15.00): £180.
  • N.B. The cost per visit is £130/£180 plus the cost of materials and chemicals.

Twilight Brownies and Cubs

  • 2-hour visit: £100

Post-compulsory & Horticultural visits

For students wishing to have an introduction to the Garden then the following fees apply:

  • 20-minute introductory tour: £15
  • 40-minute introduction and short tour: £30

For students wishing to have a more in-depth visit:

  • Half day visit (10.00 – 12.30): £100
  • Full day visit (10.00 – 15.00): £150

Unassisted visits

  • Unassisted visits for students in full time education have free entry with booking made in advance (7 days notice required).
  • This also applies to groups with an Educational Group National Trust card.
