AS/A2 level programme - Art themed day

In this visit, AS/A2 level students sketch and collect photographs for landscape, natural form and still-life projects, using the Garden for inspiration. The art day is tailored to suit the needs of your group and planned in detail prior to the visit.

Overview

Students use the Garden at Wakehurst for inspiration. They sketch and collect photographs for landscape, natural form and still life projects.

For natural forms and still-life projects, large amounts of varied native and exotic plant material can be made available. These materials can be viewed at the macro or micro level and allow students the opportunity to collect images in a variety of media for their projects.

  • Length: Day visit - Includes 2 sessions designed around a theme.
  • Group size: 20 students.
  • Minimum supervision required: 1 adult per 10 students.

    The specification for exam boards vary. When you book a day at Wakehurst, please let us know which exam board you are using and we will work with you to tailor the session for your students.

A typical day at Wakehurst is made up of two activities of approximately 1.5 - 2 hours each, one in the morning and one after lunch. We also offer a number of activity days, designed around a theme.
