Bring your students to Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens offers the perfect outdoor classroom. It houses many exceptional plant collections, unique architecture and breathtaking landscapes.  Even in poor weather, students can visit our magnificent glasshouses and experience hot and steamy tropical rainforests, arid deserts and cool sub-tropics, among other environments.

Our 132 hectares offer a range of habitats for exploration - from the diversity of the Conservation Area to the extensive Arboretum, and the Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop Walkway where students are eye-to-eye with the canopy. Kew Gardens is also home to two art galleries, the famous Pagoda, Kew Palace, Queen Charlotte's Cottage and an informative exhibition on plants and people, located in Museum No. 1.

For many schools and colleges, coming to Kew is the highlight of their year.

You love Kew Gardens

"Thank you so very much for the awesome day. We were greeted and helped by friendly and helpful staff - at the gate, in Climbers and Creepers and at the Education Centre. Hylda Peterson and Ruth Cousins [Kew teachers] were absolutely amazing. They were fantastically friendly and accommodating and pitched the lesson and talk at the perfect level. The children had a brilliant day, loving every minute of it. I will definitely recommend Kew to all my colleagues and friends.

Thank you from all the children in Form 1 at Upton House School and accompanying staff and parents."
