Spring Trail - how to make a seed box

You will need:

  • a pair of scissors
  • your Trail Card (if you don't have one, download and print the seed box template here)
  • some earth or compost
  • some seeds

step 1Look at the orange & yellow side of your Trail Card and cut along the solid lines with pictures of scissors on.

step 2Turn the Trail Card over and fold in one side, along the blue starred line.

step 3Then fold over the other side, again folding along the blue starred line.

step 4Fold in along cut lines to create a square.

step 5Now open up the Trail Card as shown.

step 6Fold the top and bottom strips into the centre using the folds you have created.

step 7Fold each flap either side of the inner box in half, along blue dotted line.

step 8Then unfold so your box looks like Step 6. Then take the left flap and fold over left wall of inner box.

step 9Take the right flap and fold over the right wall of inner box.

step 10Fill your box with earth or compost and follow instructions on your seed packet to sow your seeds.
