Liz Eddison
Liz began her career in the photographic department of Sotheby's, and went on to become assistant and stylist to advertising photographer Bob Wallis, after which she was a photographers' agent. Frustrated at not being behind the lens, she combined her passion for gardening with photography and picture research, and her garden photographs are now published internationally in books and magazines. She is a co-founder of the photographic library The
Garden Collection, and a founder member of the Garden
Photographers' Association. She is also Kew magazine's picture researcher, tracking down images ranging from tricky bugs to rare habitats. Entranced by the Gardens after dark, she undertook a year-long commission to capture Kew by night.
“To photograph Kew at night was a magical experience - there is a calm that comes over the Gardens, and the trees and glasshouses take on a whole new dimension, silhouetted against the night sky. It was truly a challenge to try to capture all this in single images.”
