New AOS Graduate Fellowship
The American Orchid Society is accepting applications from graduate students working toward their Ph.D. degree on orchid-related dissertations for a new American Orchid Society Fellowship ($9,000 per year for up to three years). This new fellowship is being generously underwritten by the Furniss Foundation.
Interested candidates should submit an outline of their project, college transcripts, a letter of recommendation from his or her chairperson, and a brief, one- page statement of the value of the project and its impact on the future of orchidology. The deadline for submission is 1 September 1998. The successful candidate will be notified by 1 November 1998.
