Description
Subshrub, glabrous or with few, simple hairs; leaves subsessile, narrow, entire, spinulose at apex; inflorescence lax, thyrsoid, cymes up to 5-flowered; bracteoles 3-partite, spinose; calyx campanulate, recurved, 7-10-lobed, lobes irregularly unequal, spreading, spinose; corolla strongly 2-lipped, 4-lobed (1/3), white, posterior lip long, hooded, densely pubescent outside; stamens not exserted from corolla, thecae weakly distinct; stigma-lobes subequal; nutlets angular, truncate at apex. One sp., S. otostegioides (Prain) Hedge, dry places, Pakistan (Sulaiman Ranges).
