Children will love Moore! Moore is for children! Henry Moore wanted you to be able to touch his sculptures, stroke them, and crawl around them. Just don't climb on them! They may be big, but they're easily damaged and we don't want them (or you) to get broken!
Sculpture Trail
When you come, you'll want to follow our downloadable Sculpture Trail. Aimed at children 3–10, it has fun questions and facts for you to puzzle out!
Games
When you're exploring the sculptures, why not try exciting games like Look Closer, Inside-Out and Landscape of Sound?
Look Closer
Walk around the sculpture. See it from different angles. Lie down and stare up at it. Get close to it, and then run away! What does it feel like? What does it make you think of?
Inside-Out
Look through the holes in the sculptures. What can you see? What does your brother or sister see? Why not take a picture?
Landscape of Sound
Sit near one of the sculptures. Close your eyes and listen. What can you hear? How many different sounds? Count them off on your fingers until you can hear 10 different sounds. Which sounds were natural and which were man-made?
If you would like more activities, please download our guides for Key Stage 1&2.
Take Photos!
Do you have a phone or a camera? Why not take some pictures for our Photo Showcase. You'll see them appear on our website!
Make Your Own Moore
Follow our guide to Make Your Own Moore.
Schools
We're also running a range of activities for schools.
Our schools activities are led by experienced teachers. They include full-day workshops aimed at A-level and capable GCSE students, half-day workshops for GCSE students, and taster sessions for 8-12 year olds.
If you are planning to lead your own visit to the exhibition, we have support materials for Key Stages 1-3, and would love to talk to you directly about your needs.
