Christmas and Winter at Wakehurst

In December Wakehurst is lit by the UK's largest Christmas tree, which towers over the mansion. The tree helps light our ever popular Carol Concert (14 Dec 07) with local choirs and the Salvation Army Band providing the entertainment.

Our late night shopping events (30 Nov, 6, 14 and 20 Dec 07) combine the chance to pick up some unusual gifts and enjoy a festive high tea or supper in our Restaurant.

The Gardens are also fascinating at this time of year. There is a splendid Winter Garden where in November and December, the viburnums and mahonias prove there's interest in the greyest months. In January, the bright stems of the dogwoods and willows, together with the flowers of heathers and cyclamens add more colour, and there are still the snowdrops, daffodils and crocuses to come, here and elsewhere in the grounds, in February.
