New for 2008The Queen's Gallery and Royal Botanic Gardens, KewAvailable 1st April to 28th September
Combine a visit to the Amazing Rare Things exhibition in the company of Sir David Attenborough on your audio guide with a tour of Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. This extraordinary exhibition Amazing Rare Things has been selected from the collections of the Royal Library in collaboration with the distinguished naturalist and broadcaster Sir David Attenborough. It brings together the works of four artists and a collector: Leonardo da Vinci, Cassiano dal Pozzo, Alexander Marshal, Maria Sibylla Merian and Mark Catesby, who have shaped our knowledge of the world around us. See The Royal Collection for more details. Kew's huge collection of plant species - the largest in the world - is the result of over two centuries of dedicated work by plant collectors, intrepidly gathering new samples from every corner of the globe. The Plant Explorers guided tour of Kew will introduce you to the most influential collectors, from Sir Joseph Banks in the 18th-century to modern-day plant-hunters, and will highlight some of the exotic species that they brought back from their travels.
