Groups with Disabilities

Wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge from all the entry gates and can be booked in advance for Mondays to Fridays (tel: 020 8332 5121). Due to high demand at weekends and Bank Holidays we do not accept prior bookings, but on a first come first served basis. Attendants to push wheelchairs around the gardens are not available. Owners' electric wheelchairs of the type permitted by the Disabled Persons Act 1970 are allowed into the gardens for use on the footpaths. Please note that the marine display beneath the Palm House is not accessible by wheelchair.

We now offer at Kew a free mobility service to enable groups of people with special needs to enjoy the magic of the gardens. The "Discovery" travels around the gardens, taking in all the major sights, vistas and even the more remote wooded areas.

For more details see our Discovery Bus page.
