Themed Guided Tours at Kew

Explore UK Biodiversity with a series of special themed tours led by Kew's Volunteer Guides. Festival walking tours take place throughout June, July, August, September: Wednesdays 11.30am, Saturdays & Sundays 2.30pm.

N.B. Tours may be subject to last minute alterations and cancellation

 

Plant and Animal Interaction

This tour looks at the interdependency - sometimes surprising - between plants and animals and takes in the floral plantscape: 'Blooms, Birds, Bugs and Bees'

Traditional and Current Uses of UK Plants

Wild plants are a source of a diverse range of products supporting livelihoods throughout Britain, past and present. This tour starts with a look at the 'Wild Harvest' exhibition then goes off in search of useful plants growing in the Gardens.

Medicinal Plants

This tour introduces you to native UK plants in the Gardens that have been used in traditional medicine. Many of the dried specimens featured in the 'Field Hospital' will be discovered growing in the Gardens.

Conservation Area

The Conservation Area at the south-western extremity of Kew Gardens is an area not usually open to visitors. It is managed as a native British woodland and paths can be rough and uneven. Country walking shoes are essential!
