Millennium Seed Bank

A Millennium Commission Project

On throughout the festival, at Wakehurst Place

The first phase of this £80m international initiative was to safeguard Britain’s heritage of wild flowers. We are the first country to store our native plant seeds as an insurance against extinction. Outside The Wellcome Trust Millennium Building the parterre beds represent many of the best loved, yet most threatened, plant habitats.
