Loder Valley Bird Monitoring

A Bird in the Hand – Bird Ringing Demonstration

On Sunday 15 June from 10am – 3pm, come and see bird ringing taking place with the British Trust for Ornithology and Kew staff at the Himalayan Glade.

at Wakehurst Place

The dramatic decline of farmland birds in recent years has led to new concerns about the future of woodland birds. This year will see the start of the Loder Valley Bird Monitoring Scheme, a long-term project to help provide a health check for bird populations. Dedicated volunteers will contribute to a global network of conservationists monitoring populations of both migrating and native birds and providing valuable input into conservation initiatives.
