Rossana Porta …Road to Nowhere

Rossana Porta

“My design depicts the natural recovery from the modern hustle and bustle of a road. Through the process of succession, plants have returned to an area that mankind has finished with.

Native plants are shown thrusting up through the tarmac, reclaiming their territory!"

"I love the idea of a habitat being reclaimed and think the plants show up well against the tarmac. I have included an apple tree which could have grown from a core thrown away by a passer-by.

This is one of my first experiences of designing and I have really enjoyed it."
