Compost at Wakehurst Place

The Wakehurst Place compost area is where the secret of good gardening begins. Bracken from Ashdown Forest is turned into a rich mulch for our acid-loving plants, while leaves collected from local roads each autumn are used to produce a highly useful, water-retentive compost which is used through much of the Garden.
