Data used: Remotely sensed imagery

A set of high-resolution satellite images from both the Landsat (MSS, TM and ETM+) and SPOT (multi-spectral) family of satellites were analysed, as well as a set of sixteen aerial photographs.

The time-series (1958, 1984, 1988, 1995 and 2001) allowed changes in vegetation cover between 1958 and 2001 to be studied. Also, a further Radarsat stereo pair was used to generate a digital elevation model of the area.
