This epiphytic orchid bears the name of Thomas Christy, an orchid
grower from Sydenham in Kent, who was the first to bring it into
flower in cultivation. Day illustrated the green flowers of a more
unusual variety, chlorops, in the bottom right-hand corner
of the page.
