One-day placement CPD course in cutting-edge biotechnology and bioinformatics

Thursday 9 March and Friday 10 March 2006
10.00am - 4.00pm

  • Plant DNA techniques for AS/A2 and GNVQ. This course is for Science Technicians and Science Teacher colleagues.
  • The course will focus on genetic engineering techniques and cheap, safe, practical investigations using plant DNA. You will also carry out a range of analysis techniques from extraction and laboratory electrophoresis to
    CD and web-based software for genomics and proteomics.
  • Course participants will receive technical manuals for practical
    investigations, guides to free software tools for genomics and proteomics
    analysis with the course contents and support resources on CD ROM.
  • Colleagues applying as one Science Technician with one Science Teacher from the same school will be given preference when awarding places on this course.
  • ASE members can bring one colleague FREE of charge to form a teacher/technician pair
  • On each day we will raffle a BIORAD Biotechnology Kit.
