Budding Genius

Wednesday 18 April, Wakehurst Place

Getting dirty hands! The workshop aims to boost the practical investigation of students studying the core, additional and applied biology elements at KS4 and also brings plant science alive at KS3.

Get your hands dirty in this actively packed day of workshops showing KS3 & KS4 delivery through practical activities in the laboratory and garden nurseries.

Try your hand at:

  • Cloning through cuttings, including management of an artificial glass house ecosystem
  • Cloning through tissue culture – a technique that actually works!
  • ‘Are you a plant eater?’ Looks at interesting ways of covering plant adaptation through edible foods
  • Healthy, unhealthy plant propagation
