Public Education

Welcome to our programme of courses and events for adults at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Wakehurst Place.

We’re delighted to offer another packed programme of courses and lectures for you including some old favourites and some new. Highlights mentioned below but have a browse through the brochure for the full details and more!

With over a million visitors a year, Kew is one of the world’s best loved gardens - having a fascinating history and holding an unchallenged position as the world’s leading botanical research institute. 2009 is a very special year for Kew and there will be a varied programme of events and activities to help celebrate the fact that Kew is 250. What a milestone!

Why not come and find out all about Kew’s remarkable history when Allen Paterson speaks about his new souvenir book The Gardens at Kew in April.

Discover more about Kew’s important conservation work in a series of three fascinating lectures about the work of the Millennium Seed Bank Project - taking advantage of our special 3 for 2 offer for tickets too.

The Photographing Trees course with Edward Parker is back - be quick though if you would like a place - it proved very popular last year!

At Wakehurst Place we’ve designed a new Drawing Workshop for you in September and will be holding a delightful Hedgehog lecture in July. We’re also thrilled to be welcoming woodsman Ben Law in October who will be sharing his knowledge and deep understanding of The Woodland Year.

We look forward to welcoming you!
