Public Education
Welcome to our programme of courses and events for adults at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Wakehurst Place. The vegetable growing course with professional gardener and broadcaster Matthew Biggs proved such a success at Kew last year that not only are we offering it again but we have also asked Matthew to come and teach a new Introduction to Herbs course. Be quick if you want a place on either, though, as we predict they will prove popular. The summer festival at Kew this year will celebrate everything that is glorious about trees. Come and gain inspiration amongst Kew's impressive arboretum on our new two day Photographing Trees course with specialist photographer, Edward Parker, or spend an evening listening to writer & photographer, Archie Miles', stories about the Hidden Trees of Britain. We're launching a new series of lectures at Wakehurst Place to highlight the role and work of the Millennium Seed Bank. Dr Paul Smith, head of the project, opens the series on Tuesday 6th May with a lecture entitled Tools used by Modern Plant Collectors. Why not take advantage of our special ticket offer and enjoy all three lectures along with a glass of wine on the first evening. Remember that if you would like to give a place on any of our courses as a gift (subject to course availability) we are more than happy to arrange for a special card to be sent, whatever the occasion. Just inform us of your requirements using the contact details below then relax and we'll take care of the rest! Well, we hope you enjoy our latest selection of courses and find something to suit. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries about the courses, would like to be added to the mailing list or have any suggestions for future topics. We'd love to receive your feedback. Our next brochure, for Autumn/Winter 2008, will be published in September. Happy browsing and we look forward to welcoming you! All profit from these courses and events contributes to the vital work of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Wakehurst Place. Adult EducationFor course information/enquiries, please contact us: Tel:
