Children visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens are now able to learn about
plants through play in a unique interactive learning area. It marks a new
commitment to engaging children in the pleasure and interest of plants.
In Climbers and Creepers kids can:
• climb into a plant to pollinate it
• get ‘eaten’ by a giant pitcher plant
• crawl through a bramble tangle.....
.....and have a lot more fun while discovering the importance of plant
and animal relationships.

Climbers
and Creepers occupies 1,163 sq. metres in the restored former cycad house
near to White Peaks. It offers shelter in the winter months, while during
the good weather visitors can enjoy the outdoor play space 'Air Play'
supported by Fairy Naturals. Above the 'Exploration Zone' is ‘The
Lookout’, which is a rest and observation area.
