A new collection of beautiful fine bone china mugs

Kew Shop is proud to introduce a new collection of beautiful fine bone china mugs featuring celebrated botanical prints by Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840).

Our new collection of fine bone china mugs

Redouté visited Kew Gardens in 1787 to paint plants and later achieved success as the official court artist of Queen Marie Antoinette. In 1798 he was appointed to paint the flowers of Malmaison by Josephine Bonaparte.

The botanical prints are housed in Kew’s Library, which holds one of the world's most extensive collections of botanical illustrations containing 200,000 prints and drawings. As well as works by Redouté there are pieces by other 18th and 19th century masters, including Ehret and the Bauer brothers, as well as many contemporary artworks.

There are four mug designs to choose from: Rose, Iris, Amaryllis and Sweet Pea. The depth and clarity of colour in the decal is truly inspiring, breathing life into each individual flower. Each mug features the Kew royal stamp and is presented in a beautiful gift box, making a wonderful present.

This new collection is available to buy in our gift shops on site or through our online shop at £10 each. Kew Shop offers a wonderful range of gifts, jewellery and souvenirs as well as items for your home and garden. All profits support Kew's work.
