Phyllostachys corrugata

HABIT Perennial; caespitose. Rhizomes elongated; leptomorph. Culms erect; 400 cm long; 30 mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes semiterete; hollow; 18–21 cm long. Culm-nodes swollen. Lateral branches dendroid. Branch complement two; with 1 branch dominant. Culm-sheaths green and brown; concolorous, or distinctly mottled with last colour; pilose; hairy on margins; without auricles; glabrous on shoulders. Culm-sheath ligule 1–2 mm high; ciliolate. Culm-sheath blade linear; reflexed. Leaves 2–3 per branch. Leaf-sheaths puberulous; outer margin hairy. Leaf-sheath oral hairs setose; erect, or spreading. Leaf-sheath auricles absent. Ligule an eciliate membrane. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 6–12 cm long; 10–15 mm wide. Leaf-blade venation with 8–12 secondary veins. Leaf-blade surface pubescent; hairy abaxially (at base).

INFLORESCENCE Flowering specimens unknown.

DISTRIBUTION Asia-temperate: China.
