Reimarochloa
HABIT Perennial. Stolons present. Culms decumbent (2/2); 10–20.83–40 cm long; rooting from lower nodes (1/1). Culm-internodes elliptical in section (2/2). Ligule a fringe of hairs.
INFLORESCENCE Inflorescence composed of racemes; exserted (2), or embraced at base by subtending leaf (1).
Racemes single (1), or paired (1), or digitate (2), or borne along a central axis (1); ascending (1), or spreading (2); unilateral. Rhachis angular. Spikelet packing abaxial.
Spikelets appressed; solitary. Fertile spikelets sessile.
FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 basal sterile florets; 1 fertile florets; without rhachilla extension. Spikelets lanceolate (1), or elliptic (2); dorsally compressed; 1.5–4.633–6 mm long; falling entire.
GLUMES Glumes both absent or obscure.
FLORETS Basal sterile florets barren; without significant palea. Lemma of lower sterile floret lanceolate (1), or ovate (2); membranous; 3 -veined (1), or 5 -veined (1), or 7 -veined (1); obtuse. Fertile lemma lanceolate (1), or ovate (2); cartilaginous; without keel; wingless; 3 -veined (1/1). Lemma surface unwrinkled; without grooves. Lemma apex acute, or acuminate. Palea separating from lemma above; 0.75 length of lemma; 2 -veined; without keels.
DISTRIBUTION North America (1), or South America.
