Spikelets pectinate; solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled. Male spikelets sessile. Pedicels oblong.
FERTILE SPIKELETS Spikelets comprising 1 fertile florets; with diminished florets at the apex. Spikelets lanceolate; dorsally compressed; 8–10 mm long; falling entire; deciduous with accessory branch structures.
GLUMES Glumes exceeding apex of florets; thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume lanceolate; 0.66–0.75 length of upper glume; membranous; without keels; 1 -veined. Lower glume lateral veins absent. Lower glume surface without pits. Lower glume apex acute. Upper glume lanceolate; membranous; without keels; 2–5 -veined. Upper glume apex acute.
