Would you like to help set plant and fungus conservation priorities in the UK over the next seven years?

The Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, at its sixth meeting in April 2002, adopted decision VI/9 on the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation, including outcome oriented global targets for 2010.

The UK is committed to implementing the Strategy. The UK Government therefore asked the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), Plantlife International and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to take forward a consultation to consider what the Strategy’s targets might mean for the UK, what the priorities for action may be in the light of existing activity, and how different UK partners can contribute.

A Plant Diversity Challenge Conference was held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew on Wednesday 26th April 2006.
