Bulb planting at Kew

A drift of flowering bulbs

Siberian Squill

Scilla siberica

Siberian squill

Scilla siberica carries beautiful, bright Prussian-blue flowers and makes a glorious display in March and April.

The flower spikes grow up to 15cm tall, with strap-shaped glossy green leaves.  They are suitable for rock gardens and for flowering in short grass, in sun or partial shade with well-drained soil.

300,000 bulbs are planted on Cherry Walk near King William’s Temple.
