- This sieve was found in a cemetery at Hawara and is made from two types of plants. The twisted parts of the sieve wound round the hard stems are made from Cyperus papyrus. The hard stems are of Phoenix dactylifera . The sieve dates to the 1st century BC, in the Greco-Roman period.
