- This necklace dates to the 1st century BC, in the Greco-Roman period. It was found in a grave at a cemetary in Hawara by the Egyptologist, W. Flinders Pertrie. The necklace is composed of flowers of the date palm, strung on thin strips of the leaves of the date palm. Petrie found the necklace in 1888 and donated it to the British Museum, Natural History Department.
