These paper toy boxes, made from a species of Broussonetia, were sent to Kew from the South Kensington Museum , where Sir Harry Parkes’ collection was first kept. Parkes is responsible for gathering a large part of Kew ’s paper collection, including various specimens of Japanese paper materials and samples.
