Designed by the famous architect Decimus Burton and built in the 19th Century, The Temperate House is the largest surviving Victorian glasshouse in the world, covering an area of 4,880 square metres.

This elegant Grade I listed venue provides the perfect backdrop for evening receptions, gala dinners and corporate parties. The lush interior houses an array of sub-tropical plants from all over the world and when illuminated, is transformed into one of the most exotic and breathtaking venues in London.

Receptions can be accommodated in the South Octagon, before dining in the Central House under a canopy of palms. For larger receptions the whole House can be utilised if required.

Multiple Venue Hire Packages

Bespoke venue hire packages may be arranged across any combination of Kew’s portfolio of venues. Both the Princess of Wales Conservatory and Nash Conservatory can be used as pre-dinner drinks venues for guests who wish to book the Temperate House for an evening event but require a space at Kew before 7pm. The Kew Explorer is then an essential element of the event in order to transport guests between the venues.
