Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew currently employs around 800 staff at Kew Gardens and Wakehurst. Kew is led by its Director and overseen by the Board of Trustees.

Executive Board

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is run by an Executive Board, under the leadership of Kew's Director, Richard Deverell. The Executive Board is the key decision-making board that oversees the operations and delivery of RBG Kew’s strategy and plan.

Staff and organisational structure

Kew currently has around 800 staff with a diverse range of expertise, operational and management skills. Some 60 per cent of staff are specialist plant and fungal scientists and botanical horticulturists.

Established as an independent charity in 1990, Kew Foundation raises much-needed funds from individuals, companies and trusts to support Kew’s work.

RBG Kew Enterprises

RBG Kew Enterprises Limited is a trading company wholly owned by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Kew's commercial activities are operated by RBG Kew Enterprises including venue hire, retail, trademark licensing, and some events. All profits are gift-aided to Kew and used to support Kew's work.

Bentham-Moxon Trust

The mission of the Bentham-Moxon Trust is to provide financial support for botanical collections and research that further the work of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
