PART ONE

Knowledge and Experience

Essential
  • Qualified accountant with experience in cost and management accounting
  • Significant experience in strategic planning and business change within a complex organisation
  • Experience of developing and ensuring implementation of a strategic business change and prioritisation system
  • Evidence of leading and/or contributing to wider organisational strategy
  • Cross organisational experience and a track record of translating organisational complexities into clear and meaningful strategies and plans
  • Experience of working with enterprise-wide financial systems and financial systems development
  • Educated to degree level
Desirable
  • Relevant background in both public and private sector bodies, with an understanding of central government financial arrangements

PART TWO

Skills and Abilities

  • Credible with an aptitude for communicating strategy and finance to non-financial professionals, both executive and non-executive
  • Demonstration of strategic and integrated thinking with the ability to innovate and generate new ideas
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Trustees and all colleagues, including influencing others to meet the corporate strategic and financial agenda
  • Highly numerate and excellent at presenting numerical information, especially to nonfinance experts
  • Well developed influencing, negotiating and representational skills
  • Ability to engage and drive change within the business and its culture
  • Integrity, resilience, energy and creativity
  • Skilled horizon-scanning
  • Excellent communication, report writing and interpersonal skills
