Kew is the world leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life. 

Funded by a major grant from the Big Lottery Fund, Grow Wild is an ambitious mass-participation programme that aims to inspire people – especially disadvantaged young people – to do something positive for where they live by sowing UK native wild flowers. The programme aims to reach 30 million people and to get 3 million people to take direct action by 2017.  To achieve these goals we need to create fresh and engaging content that will help drive engagement.

You will plan, commission, write, edit and manage content across a variety of media to support and promote Grow Wild, in line with editorial guidelines. This will include identifying breaking stories, developing relationships with key programme partners, and helping to drive participation. You will also upload content to Grow Wild’s digital environment and oversee the production of printed material.

A talented individual with excellent commissioning, writing and editing skills, you will have experience of planning compelling, audience-appropriate content across a variety of media. You will have the ability to commission subject-matter experts and write engaging content for different audiences. You will also have experience of print production and of using a content management system.
