Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life.
Working as part of the Content and Media team, a group of talented and award winning professionals, you will develop a two year content plan for refreshing existing content and developing new material published on Kew.org. Part of this will involve delivering editorial improvements across the website, particularly focusing on the areas of accessibility, usability, SEO and conversion. Over the next 12 months the Kew website and Intranet will see significant changes by migrating onto a new platform. As part of this process you will support content creators in the training and use of the new Content Management System (CMS), this will include the production of associated user guides and conducting User Acceptance Testing as required.
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or with equivalent experience, you will have high quality editorial skills including new content production, proof reading, sub-editing and writing, content planning, design and layout. You will have excellent attention to detail and an audience focused mind-set. Experience of using Content Management Systems, conducting User Acceptance Testing and editorial training is essential.
