The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (also known as RBG Kew) was founded in 1759, and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003. As well as being one of London’s top visitor attractions, RBG Kew is also a world leader in plant science and conservation. Our work helps to discover and describe the world’s plant and fungal diversity (http://www.kew.org/plants-fungi/index.htm), safeguard the world's plant life for our future, promote the sustainable use of plants and inspire an appreciation of plants and the environment.
RBG Kew is developing its internal procurement service to provide an agile service which delivers effective Value for Money procurement solutions in support of the organisation’s strategic objectives.
You will support and assist the newly appointed Head of Procurement and Contract Management in implementation and then ongoing provision of a comprehensive procurement service that supports the objectives of RBG Kew. You will provide specialist procurement advice across all levels of the organisation, develop policies and procedures and be responsible, as required, for the tendering and award of a wide range of contracts for works, goods and services, with particular emphasis on requirements for Property Services.
Qualified to CIPS professional standard, or equivalent, you will have relevant post qualification experience of working in a public sector/charitable organisation. You will possess excellent knowledge of UK and EU legislation, OJEU processes and Government frameworks, along with experience of Government account and public procurement regulations. An articulate and persuasive communicator, who can influence and constructively challenge others, you will also possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
