We require a bright, enthusiastic individual to implement Kew’s mission by assisting in, and developing areas of the day-to-day operation of the School of Horticulture.

Within this varied and busy role, you will assist in the organisation and coordination of aspects of the Kew Diploma , the Horticultural Internship Programme and support other educational programmes run by the school.

Your duties will include, dealing with enquiries and applications, arranging tours, marking tests and recording and compiling results. As part of the student vegetable plot project, your plant knowledge and practical horticultural experience will enable you to demonstrate practical skills, as well as allocate plots, order and distribute seed and monitor progress. You will also be required to assist School of horticulture management to support students and interns on excursions and visits.

With a friendly and approachable attitude, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write comprehensive and well structured reports. You will effectively plan your workload and have a good understanding of health and safety legislation.

You will have a range of amenity horticulture and vegetable growing skills with a good plant knowledge, possess horticulture qualifications to at least NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, and have a clean, valid driving licence D1.
