SALARY PER ANNUM: £22,056 to £24,052 dependent on skills and experience

JOB DETAILS:

Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life. 

You will support the development and implementation of our Breathing Planet Programme through providing technical support to the Seed Conservation Department’s operational partnerships, networks and projects. You main role will be to improve the quality of collections (seed, herbarium specimens and associated data) managed by Millennium Seed Bank partners. You will compile up-to-date information on partner facilities and procedures, analyse partners’ target species lists, participate in partner fieldwork and associated laboratory and horticultural activities, and provide information on collection quality to partners and Kew project managers.

With a degree in a biological subject or equivalent, you will have experience of working in a scientific/environmental team context. You will be an excellent organiser and proactive communicator, able to establish good relationships, communicate with clarity and confidence and establish influence with all project participants. Your sound understanding of plant conservation, sustainable use, and biodiversity issues is essential, as is your ability to travel overseas frequently, in order to participate in projects.

Salary is from £22,056 to £ 24,052 dependant on skills and experience per annum and benefits include 30 days holiday per year, a choice of pensions, a flexible benefits scheme as well as a great working environment.
