SALARY PER ANNUM: £32,640 - £39,270 pa (dependent on experience), plus benefits

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is world renowned as a place of tranquil beauty, picturesque gardens and historic buildings with an emphasis on science, education and conservation. Kew Enterprises Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kew Gardens whose key objective is to maximise revenue through its commercial activities.
We currently have a vacancy within our Retail team for maternity cover of our Head Buyer role, based at Kew Gardens but with frequent visits to our sister site at Wakehurst Place.
This role has gift buying responsibility for three on-site shops at Kew, and one shop at Wakehurst Place, as well as management responsibility for the Buying Team, comprising of a Book Buyer and Horticultural Buyer.
The role involves both product sourcing and product development, and is key to driving the strategic direction of our shops.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate sympathetic buying skills that are attuned to the overall brand, excellent analytic skills, and superior negotiation skills to help us reach our target margins. You should have experience of line managing a team, and of setting up systems and processes to help facilitate smooth working across departments. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders to help achieve our £2.5million turnover.
