Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life.

The main purpose of the role will be to manage the day-to-day operation of Kew’s website, intranet and mobile applications, working with internal and external hosting providers to ensure continuity and quality of these digital services. You will lead a small team to deliver the technical aspects of web management and development, ensuring continued operational support during a period of growth for our various digital communication channels.

Over the next 12 months Kew will be migrating the web and intranet from the current Oracle CMS to a new open source environment (Drupal). You will responsible for maintaining the current CMS, overseaing the migration and leading the ongoing development of the new system. You will be an experienced line manager with innovative web technical skills, capable of leading a team in the development and support of Kew’s digital channels.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent, you will have significant experience of working with open source content management software such as Drupal (version 6 or 7). Knowledge of developing web applications with CSS, XHTML, Javascript and HTML 5 is essential.
