JOB DETAILS:

Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life. 

In this key role, you will develop and administer the Content Management System (currently Oracle) which delivers Kew’s external website, intranet and mobile applications. The website underpins key marketing and communcation activities, enhances visitor experience, supports membership and fundraising and raises awareness of the work of Kew.

Over the next 12 months Kew will be migrating the web and intranet from the current Oracle CMS to an open source environment (Drupal). You will be responsible for maintaining the current CMS and assist in the migration of content and functionality to the new platform and support the ongoing development of the new platform.

Educated to degree level, you will have formal qualifications or training in computer science, web development technologies and methodologies, or the equivalent level of experience. You will be experienced in developing web applications with CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, and HTML 5 and have a good understanding of open standards and open source software such as Drupal (version 6 or 7).  You will have worked with a range of CMS solutions and be experienced in the support and maintenance of web, intranet and mobile service.
