SALARY PER ANNUM: £22,056 - £24,052 dependant on skills and experience

LOCATION: Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew


Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life. 

Working as part of a small team, you will be a key player to improve the data quality in various Kew databases and systems, facilitating the integration of data and systems as part of Kew’s Science and Horticulture Systems project.  You will use online and offline resources to research data and make appropriate improvements, deploying an understanding of botanical data and the impact of the changes to identify problems in data quality.

With a Biology degree or equivalent experience, you will be familiar with the meaning and use of biodiversity information, especially taxonomy and organism names.  As well as a good communicator, you must also be well-organised, capable of planning own work and meet deadlines, with an eye for detail and concerned for quality of data worked upon. Experience of using Microsoft Office products (or similar) is essential and SQL is desirable.
