The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major visitor attraction that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life.

This role is part of the Garden Unit in the Horticulture and Estate Management team at Wakehurst Place in West Sussex, which cultivates and curates the botanical collections and ornamental displays.  You will assist with creating displays of a high horticultural standard that inspire and educate visitors, and support the conservation and research functions of the organisation. You will be a motivated member of the team participating in horticultural activities/maintenance and achieving standards, working efficiently with the team and understanding its role in the organisation. You will help to maintain collections to improve educational and scientific potential of the displays and increase visitor enjoyment.

You will have proven experience in working in working in horticulture, caring for a range of hardy herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees, including pest and disease control and use of horticultural machinery. You will have experience of working in a team carrying out out horticultural tasks. You must have experience of working constructively as part of a team, be able to prioritise work and able to use initiative in solving horticultural problems
