The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Kew) is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major visitor attraction that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life.
We are looking for an Events Coordinator Intern to join our team from mid- March to July 2013. This position will have exposure to the entire events programme and is designed to give support to the Events Team, as well as providing the opportunity to take ownership of some key events, during this busy period.
The internship will provide experience in event design, planning and coordination at a unique venue with exposure to a high profile fundraising campaign. It will provide an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking employment in the events sector to gain experience of fundraising events and to develop individual skills in event planning and delivery, project management and communication.
You will need to be highly organised and able to manage conflicting priorities with a good attention to detail. You will have good interpersonal and communications skills and be able to work under pressure. With an active interest in event management, you will be confident, self motivated and with sense of humour.
