We have an opportunity for a Library Graduate Trainee to join our team at the Herbarium, Library, Art & Archives department. The HLAA department supports the work of Kew with one of the largest collections of material in the world related to botany. This includes books, periodicals, maps, microforms, illustrations and archives. Our mission is to maintain and enhance these collections, exploit the information they contain, and provide access by whatever means are available.

This vacancy is open to graduates (and those expecting to graduate in 2013) who intend to pursue a career in the library field. You will be assisting in the smooth running of the library, by staffing the enquiry desk and correctly cataloguing items to international standards. You must have ability to plan own time, work independently and use own initiative. You will also have excellent written and oral communications skills with experience in dealing with the public.
