The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a world famous scientific organisation, internationally respected for its outstanding living collection of plants and Herbarium as well as its scientific expertise in plant diversity, conservation and sustainable development in the UK and around the world. It is also a major international visitor attraction, attracting nearly 2 million visitors a year, and one of the largest organisations of its type in the world. Kew Gardens was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 and celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2009.
Following the adoption of a five year strategic business plan in early 2012 and the appointment of a new Director in September 2012, Kew is looking for exceptional candidates for the post of Director of Corporate Services.
The Director Corporate Services will be a key member of the Executive Board, reporting to the Director and providing leadership to around 120 staff. The post-holder will deliver excellence in strategic and operational business support across a number of key areas including finance, procurement, IT, HR, legal and estates.
This is a senior appointment calling for an individual who can point to a successful track record in management within corporate services - especially in strategic financial decision making, financial planning and performance management. Experience of having responsibility for significant budgets will be crucial as will proven experience in shaping, leading and implementing change. The role will be based at RBG Kew’s main site in South West London.
