2009 was an exciting year for Kew . It marked both Kew's 250 th anniversary and the launch of the Breathing Planet Programme, Kew's action plan to inspire and deliver plant conservation worldwide. In our 2010 displays we celebrate Biodiversity.
We have an opportunity for two enthusiastic individuals to support the display teams in 2010 in the planting, care, maintenance, removal of the Main & Victoria Gates' Display Beds, and in all other horticultural work areas in the Horticulture and Public Experience team. In addition, you will also be required to mulch borders/beds and ensure the area you are working in is kept free of litter at all times, as well as assisting, when required, in the nurseries or other Garden areas.
Essentials:
To succeed, you will have at least two GCSEs and an NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture, or equivalent. You will also have a background of working within a horticultural discipline, preferably within a Botanic Garden or similar. It is essential that you are able to carry out tasks requiring high levels of manual dexterity, as well as physically demanding tasks. You will possess excellent communication and problem solving skills and enjoy working as part of an innovative team.
