JOB STATUS:  Fixed Term / Secondment (duration 24 months)

SALARY PER ANNUM:  Band C, £22,056 - £29,372

DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION  Science & Horticulture Applications Development Team
 RBG Kew (IT Department) or Wakehurst Place, West Sussex

 

To support the delivery of Kew’s Breathing Planet Programme (BPP), we are seeking to recruit an individual to provide a high quality IT Service Desk function to users across Kew and partners and stakeholders across the world. You will manage and maintain science and horticulture applications, carry out bug fixes, software enhancements and develop bespoke solutions as required.

A background of working in an IT environment where projects are formally managed and ITIL procedures implemented is required. Experience of database and web software development and knowledge of MySQL and Java is essential. A recent ITIL qualification and experience of leading a team is desirable. You will be expected to learn new technologies as required to support and maintain legacy applications (VB etc).

Experienced in working with users, you will use your interpersonal skills to establish good relationships and communicate your ideas clearly with scientists and other IT colleagues.
